It's cold and rainy out and it will continue to rain for the next four days. I am so glad I am wearing the Lululemon Dog Runner Pants today. Water rolls right off the top layer of the pants and the inner liner is a pair of stretchy leggings. Kept me dry all day despite heavy rain.
Two weeks later:
I sat on a wet seat and did not realize it until I got up and felt that my butt was sort of wet and cold when I got outside. This is not completely waterproof.

Lululemon Helps Me Lose Weight
Lately, I've been obsessed with Lululemon. I had been loving the Groove pants that I read about in New York Magazine that are supposed to make my butt look really globular and hot. Who wouldn't want that, huh? So, I was happily sporting my Lululemon Grooves about town and not really trying to lose weight until my mother called me up and said, "Ni hen pang, yeoaw jian fay." (You are fat, need to lose weight). Now, it is a miracle I am not on more antidepressants with a mother who calls me up to tell me such things. So anyway, I decided I needed to show my mother that I can lose weight, so I started doing the Firm Express and Cathe DVDs that require a lot of jumping. The leggings from Nordstrom that I had been wearing did not feel comfortable during constant jumping I had to do during intense exercise (such as the 8 second bursts). I felt as if my pants were going to fall down. So I ran to Lululemon looking for some stretchy tights with draw string. It started out with one pair of Toasty Run tights. I love how comfy they are but they were too hot for indoor DVD jumping. The nice Lululemon sales person recommended the running crops. I love the crops now because not only do they stay in place, they are cool, with circle mesh (to promote air circulation where you need it most). Well, since I have very athletic legs, in the Lululemon running tights, I imagined I could look like I run, possibly training for a marathon or something. So, of course I had to get some jackets to go with them. I then bought the Define jacket, which nips in my waist and makes me look skinnier.
I have lost around 5 pounds in a week, doing Firm and Cathe DVDs and running to Lululemon to buy more stretch pants. For the record, I am not fat. Because, I can fit into Lululemon, and according to people on this website called MyFitnessPal, if you can fit into Lululemon, you are very, very fit. So there, mama. Just because I am not a skinny Chinese girl does not mean I am fat.

At Long Last, Somewhere to Put My Longan Pits
I missed lychee season this year and boy was I po'd. Who knew lychee season was one week in May? After that week, all they had were the lychees without the stems and those taste horrible.
I am happy to report longans have been selling in Chinatown for over a month now. Longans are probably just as tasty as lychees, just not as popular. Is it because they are beige versus the pretty pink color of lychees? Don't judge a fruit by its peel. Why don't they ever make a Longan martini?
Do you ever get grossed out by the pits in your bowl when you are eating a bowl of cherries or anything with pits? Well, thanks to the Obol bowl, now you have separate compartments for your fruit and pits. I have one complaint: how come they don't make a lid for the bowl? That would be really functional.

Topshop Haul Review
I just received my Topshop order today. I discovered Topshop by Googling clothes with peplum, which I LOVE because it covers up my less than perfect belly and makes me feel more feminine. Thank goodness it is the hottest trend now, instead of, say, the poncho trend a few years ago, which I refused to partake.
I decided to give Topshop a try after deciding not to place my order of a peplum dress by Alice and Olivia, which is around $300. Yes, Alice and Olivia is a great designer, but $300 is a bit high. I would rather spend money on high end accessories such as a bag or shoes. Plus, after trying on the Alice and Olivia Victoria peplum dress, which did not cover the imperfection of my poochy belly because the peplum is too short, I am glad I discovered Topshop. The Topshop peplum is way more effective for covering up the effects of childbirth, fibroids, late night
snacks, etc., etc.
I am sooooo pleased with my Topshop order. Even though it took about two weeks to arrive, which is a bit longer than Asos or Banana Republic, I am in love with my new peplum pieces. There is a Topshop in Soho in New York, but it has been a busy few weeks, so I could not make it to the store. However, I am happy that I have the option of going to the Soho Topshop to try things on. I also don't think that the tall sizes are available in store.
My favorites are:
The scuba black peplum skirt in the tall size. I am not particularly tall, 5'5", but I like a longer skirt for the office. The tall skirt falls to my knee, professional yet slightly sexy. The scuba is so comfy and stretchy, which I can report from a few months of wear of another Topshop scuba skirt. I love the scuba skirt so much I also ordered it in pink. I have seen a similar Jason Wu "pretty in pink" dress with a pink peplum skirt but I surmise it cost a lot more than my entire Topshop order. I was right: The Jason Wu Pretty in Pink dress has a price tag of $3165 and it is all sold out at Nordstrom!

OMG is what I have to say about the peplum jacket with the zipper. Very Lady Gaga but a bit more toned down.
The red peplum short sleeve top is made with a rib material that feels kinds of stiff. I have a similar top from ASOS that is made with stretchy ponti that I love.
The red skirt is the only item in my order I am not too sure about. It is a nice color and a pretty chiffon-like fabric, but it did not look as good on me as the other pieces. If I change my mind, I will post it here. I am happy with the way the items came with nice hangers, especially for the skirts, and plastic protective covers. For someone as addicted to shopping as I am, I am glad I don't have to worry about buying more hangers for my new outfits. Way to go, Topshop!

9/11 Memorial
Today marks the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that killed over 3,000 people on that day. People are also dying from cancer and other diseases due to the toxic dust from 9/11. Let's take a moment to honor the memory of those who died. These pictures show that we are not defeated. We will never forget.
